Why the World Feels Like It's Falling Apart

Jul 08, 2026

Ever feel like the world is completely losing its mind?

From the constant cycle of alarming headlines to the unpredictability of everyday life, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Easy to feel anxious. Easy to wonder whether things are ever going to settle down.

Sometimes it feels like there's no end in sight.

But here's something I've been thinking about.

What if what we're witnessing isn't simply chaos?

What if it's deconstruction?

In case you hadn't noticed, many of our global systems are broken.

Our judicial systems.

Our education systems.

Healthcare.

Politics.

Financial systems.

The ways we've learned to think about one another.

Many of these systems no longer serve people in the way they were intended to. They don't honor the uniqueness of each individual, and instead of creating empowered human beings, they often create dependency.

Something has to change.

And meaningful change is rarely neat.

Imagine zooming 5,000 miles away from Earth and looking down at cities built on foundations that have been quietly rotting for decades.

If the foundation is unstable, you don't simply paint the walls and hope for the best.

You rebuild.

Sometimes that means dismantling what already exists before something stronger can take its place.

If you happened to be living in one of those cities while the construction was happening, it would probably feel frightening.

Especially if you didn't understand why it was happening.

From where I stand, that's a little like what we're experiencing collectively.

We're watching old systems being questioned.

We're watching corruption and toxicity come into the light.

Leadership is being challenged.

Long-held paradigms are being examined.

Knowledge is spreading more quickly than ever before, and people are beginning to ask different questions.

None of that is comfortable.

In fact, I believe things may become even more chaotic before they become more stable.

Because while reconstruction has begun, many of the old systems are still standing.

And that means there is still work to be done.

So what does that mean for you?

It means the noise around you may continue to get louder.

If watching the news already leaves you anxious, you may notice that anxiety increasing.

If fear about the state of the world makes it difficult to focus on your own life, you may find yourself becoming even more distracted.

If you tend to absorb the emotional energy of everyone around you, it may become harder to stay centered.

That's why I believe one of the most important things we can do right now is learn how to remain grounded while everything around us is changing.

You cannot control the pace of global change.

You cannot single-handedly rebuild broken systems.

But you can choose how you respond.

You can choose whether the chaos around you becomes chaos within you.

You can continue walking your own path.

You can remain focused on your own life.

You can create consistency, even when the world feels unpredictable.

Because while you may not be able to stop the storm...

You can learn to stand steadily within it.

And no matter how unprecedented these times may feel, I truly believe this:

You can be completely and totally okay.
