These two pictures were taken at the same time this morning.
One with a filter. One without.
I was just about to film a summit interview that’s going out to 400K people.
And these pictures are so extremely representative of the highlight reel we experience online vs reality that I literally couldn’t HELP making this post.
If you were to look at the highlights of my year so far… it’s NUTS.
⚡️ I’ve been invited to Necker Island 3 times this year
⚡️ I have my first TEDx talk coming up in May
⚡️ My clinical trials for Miracle Coding will start later this year
⚡️ I was invited to star in a documentary that is basically the sequel to The Secret to highlight Miracle Coding
It all sounds so freaking glamorous. If I were reading that, I’d be impressed.
But the on-the-ground experience is so different.
😶 Necker Island: It’s a minimum of $22K ranging to $45K for a couple of days.
😶 TEDx: It’s the same week as my cohort starts which is super inconvenient timing. The prep work alone made me second guess doing it in the first place.
😶 Clinical trials: dealing with the bureaucracy of universities is mind-numbing.
😶 The documentary: comes with a $50K investment. From me.
Plus I’m still life-ing, girlfriend-ing, mom-ing and health-ing. In my pyjamas.
This is what feeds imposter syndrome. Comparing what you perceive as your failures and shortcomings to other people’s filtered wins. You’re lacking context!
