𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 “𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟” 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞?//

It looks like if you’re not feeling okay,  admitting to yourself “I’m not okay” and letting that be okay, rather than judging yourself or demanding that you feel different, or grateful, or be lucky that you aren’t X group of people who are suffering worse than you are.

Rather than filling up that “I’m not okay” space with a person. Or any body.

Or alcohol. Drugs.

Or activity.

Or social media.

Just being with yourself in your not-okay-ness.

Asking yourself “what do I need?” And being okay with the answer “I don’t know yet”.

Asking yourself what you want to do next, and being okay with “Eat a snack” or “stare at the wall” or “lie on the sofa”.

Rather than reaching out to ask someone else to make you okay, you be there for yourself.

And that doesn’t at ALL mean don’t ask for support. DO!

But don’t lean on someone else to make you feel okay, because then you’ll start to believe you won’t be okay without them.

And you will.

Holding yourself in your not okay-ness, builds an internal fortitude, a type of grit that is unfuckwithable. And no one can take it away, or make you not okay.

It’s not comfy. But man, it pays dividends when you lean in.

C’mon. I’ll do it with you.
