Healing Should Lead to Freedom

Aug 19, 2026

The goal of healing isn't to become dependent on the process. It's to become free enough to live your life.
I have a dream for the future of healing.

Not just better treatments.

Not just more practitioners.

A completely different way of thinking about what healing is meant to accomplish.

Somewhere along the way, we've accepted the idea that healing has to take years.

That if you're struggling, you'll simply spend the next decade working through it.

That progress is measured by how long you've been in therapy instead of how fully you're living your life.

I don't believe that's the goal.

I believe healing should help people reconnect with themselves as quickly and as completely as possible.

Not because healing should be rushed.

But because people deserve to get back to living.

The purpose of healing isn't to create lifelong dependency.

It's to create freedom.

Freedom to make decisions without fear.

Freedom to build healthy relationships.

Freedom to create meaningful work.

Freedom to stop organizing your entire life around old pain.

I also believe we need to rethink how we support the people doing this work.

Right now, becoming a qualified practitioner can take years of education, enormous financial investment, and a mountain of bureaucracy.

Of course there should be standards.

Of course there should be accountability.

People deserve safe, ethical practitioners.

But we also need enough people who are equipped to help.

We're living through a time when more and more people are asking for support, yet the systems designed to provide that support are struggling to keep up.

That serves no one.

Imagine a world where people could access meaningful healing more easily.

Where support wasn't something you waited months or years to receive.

Where practitioners were empowered to help people move through challenges effectively instead of reinforcing the idea that they'll always be broken.

Because I don't believe most people are broken.

I think many people are carrying experiences they were never taught how to process.

There's an important difference.

Healing should remind people of their capacity.

Their resilience.

Their sovereignty.

Their ability to move forward.

The goal isn't for someone to need healing forever.

The goal is for them to become so connected to themselves that they no longer need someone else to carry them.

To me, that's success.

Not keeping people in the healing process indefinitely.

But helping them reach the point where they can walk confidently into the next chapter of their lives.

Because healing isn't the destination.

Living is.

And the more people we can help return to their lives with freedom, confidence, and hope...

The healthier our communities become.

That's the future of healing I want to help build.
